The
Calgary Fiddlers perform a variety of music, ranging from traditional
folk fiddling, to country, bluegrass, Celtic, and even big band.
Each fiddler takes private classical violin lessons in addition
to participating in private and group coaching sessions for fiddling
on a weekly basis. The Group performs at over 100 functions in and
around the Calgary Area each year, as well as touring internationally
every summer. |

In September of 1993, The Calgary Fiddlers Association established a "farm team" called The Bow Valley Fiddlers, to give younger fiddlers some performance experience, with an overview of fiddling styles. Prior to joining the Bow Valley Fiddlers, the majority of students have had two to four years of private training on the violin. The Bow Valley program has grown by leaps and bounds during the past two years, there are six full classes of Bow Valley students. The groups perform all around Calgary and area, for special events, seniors homes and music festivals. Donna
Turk, Artistic Director of The Bow Valley, Alumni. Marty Gray, Fiddle Coach, Alumni. Aleksandra Radovanovich , Fiddle Coach, Alumni. Tasha Zboya , Fiddle Coach, Alumni. |
